Gone baby, gone...

Well, so much for nothing ever happens in Tunisia! If you've tuned into BBC lately, you may have seen that old Bin Ali just fled the country last night amid growing protests, and the Tunisian military has taken over securing the place. For the time being, we're safe and sound and are finding this all very exciting and eventful! The last big protests in Tunisia occurred in the early 80's when Bin Ali orchestrated a bloodless coup and took power. Well, you know what they say, what goes around comes around.

There's the man himself. We like to call this poster "high five-ing the nation" though I think the nation decided at last to rebuff the gesture. Seems that everyone else is rebuffing BA too, as he was turned away from France and Malta, finally landing his plane in .... Saudi Arabia. Fun, fun. That wouldn't exactly be my first pick for an "escape" although I have heard they have the Cheescake Factory and Victoria's Secret there, so something anyway for Leila Bin Ali to do.

So much is happening very quickly around here, we've already had our second interim president announced here in the last 24 hours. I tend to think the speed may be a good thing, and hopefully things will re-stabalize soon!
